Ok everyone talks about it so much there should be a separate section for it . Both for people who like arguing about whether their bias got it or not, and for people interested in it. I just find it to be a very interesting topic. Alright I'm sorry now I won't post any more suggestions for a while. *sits in corner* Realistically I think there should be LESS sections. Bunch them up into one so that there is less to "follow" and you need to click less. That's me personally.
O.O Prepare yourself for opinions~ Before I begin, let me just tell you that I am a fan of EXO. The group seems pretty unstable, though, and some of the members are difficult to like.
1. Lay. He's not my bias (I don't have one in EXO), but how can you hate this adorable little thing? He's cute, sweet, dances like a boss and his singing voice is so nice, too.
2. Kai. Smoking hot, dazzling smile, he's a nice person from what I've seen and he works really hard despite getting hurt a lot. Needless to say, his dancing skills are breathtaking. However, I don't really like his singing voice. He sounds OK rapping, though.
3. Xiumin. Adorable, underrated singing (the colour of his voice is meh but his control is impressive), decent dancer and works hard. I don't think he's ever half-assed any performance. It just shows. Although he's not outstanding in any one field, he's a good, well-rounded member. Baozi doesn't get enough love since Lulu's gone.
4. Chen. A very good singer, and such a sweetheart from what I've seen. His personality is at a happy medium; he's goofy and bubbly, but not annoyingly/immaturely so.
5. Baekhyun. My favourite voice in EXO, also my favourite face. He's so cute. Probably because my ultimate bias (V from Bangtan Boys) looks a lot like him. Buuut, he has said and done a lot of ignorant and problematic things in the past. I have a feeling that if I knew him in real life, I really wouldn't like his personality. He doesn't really know where to stop.
6. Kyungsoo. This boy can do ballad songs well, but ballads aren't my type of music. Still a very talented singer, though. I'm not too sure about his acting, though - maybe it's just Korean acting in general, but it's all very cringeworthy to me. Maybe I just don't like dramas. I don't really watch K-dramas, so I'm not particularly experienced.
7. Tao. Doesn't really have much to say for himself.
8. Sehun. Same as Tao.
9. Suho. I actually feel sorry for him. He trained seven years, but his singing and dancing is average. He has to help manage nine other boys as a leader, and I don't think he really gets enough respect. I don't know, he needs pull his socks up.
10. Chanyeol. Do. Not. Want. :serious: >:( LOL @ chanyeol D: I tried so hard to like Chanyeol, but I just can't. He's a rapper because he can't sing, the colour of his voice isn't particularly appealing (a lot of people like his deep voice, but I personally think he sounds like a pedo), needless to say, his personality sucks (he's like an extremely exaggerated version of Baekhyun while Chen is the sweeter version of Baekhyun) and he's not good-looking in my opinion. Not trying to downplay his talent; I'm sure he has a lot of it and works hard, but it's just not working for me. I agree, he's very problematic, but I like his voice. XD I kinda think that none of the exo members are particularly OUTSTANDING, but they are all good to some extent.
I've been listening to Crazy and Cold Rain by 4Minute a lot recently. Also, Rainy Day by Ailee , Melted by AKMU (seriously, the talent in those siblings is overflowing), Sugar Free by T-ara and Gloomy Clock by IU (ft. Jonghyun) .
As a group that I found out about pretty recently (about a month ago), I've been obsessed over a lot of Bangtan's songs, too, but one that stood out to me a lot was Tomorrow . The lyrics are amazing. Suga is hella talented. ^^ you listed lot of people I don't listen to. I checked all of them out, they're all very different, it was interesting. I especially liked Gloomy Clock, the lyrics definitely interested me.
But still... What the hell is up with Pikachu in the background?? It's going to drive me insane. As for the song, I don't like it. :P It's like one big awful acid trip, and not the good kind, like the video for Come Back Home. Well, whatever. I wasn't expecting much anyway, so I'm not that disappointed. I'll just wait and look forward to 2NE1's next Korean album. I hope they'll slay even harder than Crush. http://36.media.tumblr.com/e15ab3fd06156f50dadcdcffdf3f8ac7/tumblr_inline_nnwf487dH51tsljqh_500.jpg
the international fans that should know better and defend their oppars and unnies when they get called out for doing problematic things are laughable tbh
as for korean society, I thought America's photoshopped, distorted images of models in magazines and TV were bad, but newp
It's kinda related to their culture though. The UK is has many immigrants, therefore people are more open-minded whereas countries like Korea and Japan aren't so opened to foreigners because "they would ruin their homogeneous society". I'm not saying that's an excuse but we also have a similar issue in the West where tanned people are considered healthy, and pale people are sick (especially in the southern countries).

That kind of attitude really bothers me. >:( How is that kind of attitude related to their culture, though? I wrote an essay about the Nikkeijin issue in Japan and basically it's related to their history. While most countries accept their citizens as theirs, whether they are born in the country or get the citizionship through other method (Jus soli), countries like Japan and Korea have a harder time to do it and you have to meet certain requirements to be accepted in the society (Jus sanguinis) that even Korean/Japanese people who are born overseas and "return" to their home countries fail to because they already have a "foreigner way to think/act" that native Korean/Japanese ppl don't accept, so you will always be seen as a foreigner, and for mixed Koreans/Japanese (or when they are raised overseas) it's even more difficult to be accepted in their society.

but...if you're all talking about conservative country and its culture...then why the fuck girls/boys want to look like white girls/boys with round faces, sharp noses, narrow jaws and blue/green eyes, double eyelids, white skin and shit...
they are against foreign way of thinking yet they want to be like foreigners and i'm not a racist at all...be yourself then, don't do things just to look like european/american and shit...be consistent with your thought about the foreigners and their culture...

Culture still isn't an excuse to do dickish things, tho Plus, cultures can grow and change. We're not asking them to implement a new language or something.
It's because they've all grown up in a society where telling someone they're fat and need to lose weight is on the same level as "you should really use whitening creams, you'd look much better ^_^" and both are normalized comments and not seen as 'offensive' even though it obviously is fucking offensive to the person being told it. For some reason, Korea hasn't grasped that yet.
Of course it isn't right, but you're not gonna change the thought processes of millions of people overnight, there's no sense in even arguing about it.
