[September 18, 2013] - New social media counters and avatar tooltip problem fixed on sidebar [update]

Overview: We added a custom counter on the sidebar for our Facebook and Twitter to increase awareness of our social media pages. Users who click these counters will be sent to our Facebook and Twitter pages. We have also fixed an issue with the avatars in the sidebar. We had a problem with the tooltip showing on the right where users would sometimes be sent to the poster's profile when they clicked on the topic link. To fix this problem, the tooltip is now showing above the avatar.

Comments: Please like and follow us on FB/TW if you haven't already. Thank you!

[September 23, 2013] - Fixed Notification Alerts [bug fix]

Overview: On September 13, we released the Nested Private Messages which works fine but came with a few unknown bugs (at the time) that made the notification alerts not add up properly.

Fix #1: Luckily, we found the bug and this was triggered when you got more than one thank/mention/reply for a post, it would just bump the same notification back up since the Nested PM system believes that it's from the same person. We fixed this issue for all the notifications which required us to separate the notification alerts from messages (logically).

Fix #2: When you receive a new message while viewing the conversation and press the "Refresh" link, it will automatically remove that particular notification alert as you view them. Before this fix, it used to not remove the notification alert, so as you read more and more messages from the conversation and go back to the website, it would show you had more messages when you had just read them.

Comments: Since this bug is fixed, it will be much easier for us to now separate the inbox messages from notifications. We just need to design it so give us a little time. Thanks for all your patience! :smooch:

[September 29, 2013] - Fixed Level column in Most Thanked list [bug fix]

Overview: Clicking on the Most Thanked title located in the Most Thanked block at the bottom right will bring you to a list of all the users and their "Been thanked" position. There was a bug that showed the wrong or outdated levels for the "Rank" column. This is now fixed along with changing the column name from "Rank" to "Level".

Comments: Special thanks to @Unique for finding this bug!

[October 5, 2013] - New real-time site metrics bar [update]

Overview: A real-time site metrics bar has been added to our website and forum. Now you can see the site statistics for forum posts, forum topics, selca ratings (# of votes), selcas approved and users online in real time on the homepage and forum index. This is currently in beta and we may revert back if we find that this feature uses too much server resources.

The site metrics on the homepage is located right below the selca. We replaced this with the old site stats.

The site metrics on the forums is at the top where we usually put the live streams.

[October 12, 2013] - Maximum signature links increased to 3 [update]

Overview: We have increased the number of links allowed in user signatures from 1 to 3 since many users have their own tumblr, ask.fm, twitter, and other social media pages they'd like to share on here. This was proposed by @Unique.

[October 15, 2013] - New post template for introduction threads in Members 411 [update]

Overview: We made it more friendly for new members to introduce themselves on the forum. The topic body now contains a template for users to get an idea of how to introduce themselves on the forum. Users who just joined will also get an alert that will lead to this page. This will increase new members engagement with the community.

Comments: Please be nice to our new members!

[October 26, 2013] - Replaced users online with registered users [update]

Overview: We decided to replace one of our site metric counters from online users to registered users. We believe that user acquisition metrics are more important than how many users/guests are on the website.

[November 24, 2013] - Search artists/groups that have ":" colon [bug fix]

Overview: Users who search selcas of artists/groups that has a colon in the search field (ex. ZE:A) were redirected back to the home page. Since colon is a unsafe character to use we decided to replace it with an underscore instead. You can still tag selcas with colons, we just added an automated way to replace them with underscores when you do searches.

Comment(s): Thanks to @littlebigelf and @Tatsu for reporting this bug.

[March 8, 2014] - Temporary solution for mobile-friendly website [update]

Overview: We noticed several members are suggesting a mobile version of the website and this has been requested several times. We went ahead as a temporary solution to optimize the mobile version by removing certain blocks that we feel would be resource-heavy on devices like the smartphone. From now on, Who's Online, Most Thanked, Real-time Metrics Bar, and Signatures are now hidden from phones. We also limited to only 1 advertisement per page on smartphones.

Comment(s): Let us know if you still have any issues with your phone overheating. This is not a permanent solution and we will be working on releasing a mobile version of the website in the future.

[March 9, 2014] - Automatic Timezone [update]

Overview: Daylight Savings Time (DST) has arrived which has pushed forward the time by one hour and has made the forum topics/posts' time stamp an hour late for some users. Before this update, users would have to manually turn on DST in the board preferences but today we have added a new update that will automatically detect your timezone and update your daylight savings time settings accordingly. The DST setting has been removed from the board preferences. This update will detect your timezone that is provided by your operating system. You may also go to the board preferences to guess your timezone. Just click the red "guess timezone" button if you're timezone settings are not accurate.

Comment(s): Javascript needs to be enabled for this update to work.
