Rant I Just Really Need Someone to Explain This to Me...

Relax and talk about anything in general

Why is it that everyone encourages you to be different or be into different things, but then when it actually happens, you get judged like hell? :serious:

because people are hypocrites and being different is only accepted as long as you're different to a normal extent - meaning as long as you're not different at all.

on a side note though, some people decide to be different in a way that's so fucking ridiculous you can't even help but judge it.

I'm different to the "normal" extent, but when people hear I like K-Pop, they automatically think I want to become a Korean or idolize Koreans to the point where I'd do anything just to meet one. Seriously?

I get this soooo fucking much.

Be unique, be different~
Shut your fucking trap. People encourage us to think outside the box and when we do that we get shot down for being ridiculous. Hypocrisy doesn't even begin to cover it. I need a less-nice word for those cunts.

I hate that, too. I'm not even that much into Kpop, I don't buy merchandise, don't have posters and listen to american music as well and my friends still say that "you know before you got addicted to china and wanted to become asian" grrrrrr.

yeah but to most people even that's outside the "normal" extent
the normal extent is something like not liking nutella
so as I'm saying the "normal different" is being not particularly different at all

"I like Black Veil Brides, All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, etc.": Oh cool
"I like One Direction, Big Time Rush, Emblem 3, etc.": OMFG can we be best friends?!
"I like Infinite, 2PM, Super Junior, etc": Ew, please stay the hell away from me

I won't lie, as an American, I agree to an extent when someone says "Americans are thick-skinned". Sure, we like celebrities who are of different races, but it's like the only way most people can accept another race is if they have some stereotypical joke to tell...

ah, so true. when I say I like Regina Spektor, Lana Del Ray, Empire of The Sun, Of Monsters and Men, everyone is cool and then I mention KPOP and then ew what is THAT?! So I have to explain what it actually is and then they see photos who they are so obviously they would sy "they look like girls, I didn't know you were into this." omg they don't look like girls! ah, I could tell so much about it, so I don't even mention it to anyone unless I am asked...(or when I hear ppl bashing PSY)

Happens to me a lot, people find me weird for various reasons. I watch japanese gay porn, I listen to Korean and Japanese pop without understanding a single word they're saying except the english chourses/phrases, I scare the shit out of people who I really hate with being disgusting, perverted and making some girls I hate that cling to me think I'm a sex obsessed lesbian so they'll leave me alone. Yup, I'm a totally relate able person . . .

I'm ... I don't know, everyone thinks of me as different, but I don't get bullied for any of it, or judged that badly. If people start calling out kpop, I call their bands out in turn.. Lolololol.

Then I hate how most people who are bashing K-Pop are fans of cookie-cutter boy bands and girl groups who were made on X-Factor. I'm sorry, but are you butthurt because you can't accept that One Direction can't hold a candle to N'SYNC and Backstreet Boys?
