Nova_REMIX Kara makes too much money in Japan to die off from 2 members leaving.
Yes, something intelligent from you. Japan won't care, their biggest girl group is a graduating group and they've already lost their Ace (kinda like the face) and they're getting ready to loose the second one.
STOP RUBBING IT IN...

/screams

If they ever lose Mayuyu, IDK if I'll survive. You don't know how much it scared me like in January when I heard Minami, Yuko, and Haruna all said that they're graduating. My palms were sweating when they asked Mayuyu if she'll graduate too.

When that day comes, I MIGHT have to move on to Momoiro.

As for this, IDK, I think I'm the minority to see that this may be exciting. The way they're going about it is a way that Korean society seems to be a sucker for. They're doing an audition program and we all know how much Korea loves their audition programs. And on top of that, when you think about it, there's probably more pluses than minuses.

KARA's "main vocalist" is actually more so only lead vocalist material. If they find a vocalist that's better than Seung Yeon, this might be for the better for them. Also, Nicole and Ji Young were great members of KARA, and they will forever be known as a part of "the best fucking five," but they weren't the core members of the group. Between the two, Ji Young was popular in Japan, but I think it was because she was known to be a model, correct me please if I am wrong. Seung Yeon, Ha Ra, and Gyu Ri were the core members. And they're the members who stayed. All KARA really needs is a better vocalist and a dancer. And a REALLY good comeback, but that's really hanging on a prayer.

The cons that come into play is the fact that all of their hits, from "Honey" to "Pandora" have been with the second reformation of KARA, and if this keeps up, they may become another Jewelry-like group if they can't make any more hits after that, and if the trainees that take Nicole and Ji Young's places don't have the star quality to help KARA rise back up the girl group ranks again, THAT'S when DSPM will have a big problem on their hands, because Rainbow and A-JAX are getting them no where.

Like Boa stated, I think Japan will love KARA's next reformation regardless. As long as Gyu Ri, Ha Ra, and Seung Yeon are still there, KARA will probably still remain popular in Japan.

Wikipedia They should add Apinks yookyung or taras ahreum. (Or maybe both :) ) Theyre both stable vocalists and both could rap. Just an idea though :)

I think that's a bad idea. Ahruem is mentally unstable (I heard she was schizophrenic) and Yookyung joining the group would be a bad idea as the whole Yookyung/A-Pink controversy would surround her and she'd eventually have to speak up. Getting an ex-girl group member from a different group in general is a bad idea. Just look at 4Minute. Hyuna was a part of the super popular Wonder Girls and now that she's a part of 4Minute, all of the attention goes to her.

I dont think that Ahreum is schizophrenic, even with all the weird photos. Everyone posts weird photos. But youre right about a former member of one band being in a new band. Hyuna is a perfect example, just like you said (lol sorry for the new replies im new hereee)

Your new? Welcome! :smooch:
About Ahreum, I heard that she could possibly be schizophrenic. The whole hearing voices thing..

I wouldn't blame her for being a bit coocoo in the head though. She thought she had her whole career ahead of her for being in that band but then CCM pulled her out. To have your dream taken away from you really sucks. They said she would debut in early 2014, and its already april 2014. Ahreum needs to get out of that company. And thanks for welcoming me!

She got promised a solo debut but I feel like that's CCM trying to control the situation with T-ARA (and failing). Everyone needs to get out of CCM. idk why anyone would go there in the first place...

littlejay i get angry when i learn that a kpop comeback will be in Japanese. stick to what made u famous in the first place.

Not how much money u'll make from your album. I'm pretty sure labels make a lot more money from Japan but we fell in love with ur artists cause they were kpop artists not jpop artists. I don't mind if they make Japanese ver albums and MV but it should come secondary.

Nobody For me it really depends on the artist and if the song is a new song or if they are just half heartedly translating the lyrics into japanese and calling it a win. I don't mind it and I have liked some japanese releases but thats just my opinion.

Translating songs from korean to japanese is the worse. Especially if a band does that ALL the time for japanese promotions. Really a waste of time. The only time where the japanese version of a kpop song sounded better than the korean was mr taxi by snsd.

Agreed but thats only because the original was Japanese, I just really think that they need to either get better translators or just not translate them at all.

Jac I'm not a fan of how Japanese sounds in song.
That being said, SHINee has done a couple really nice ones that I wish were in Korean originally because I like the flow so much.
I will never forget Big Bang's Japanese album that was almost entirely in English. Haha.

Yaayanee I wholeheartedly agree and welcome to the forum, OP.

I just want them to really try if they're going to be debuting. Not singing some half ass Japanese for songs that were previously released in Korean. They really should treat it like a serious endeavor to develop their music, and not just treat it as a quick moneymaker. They need to commit.

Though it's equally annoying when they try their best in Japan, BUT don't translate that effort to SK. Also don't call Japanese tours global ones. LOL

Article: Stellar proves their popularity "The ground feels like it's going to shake when we perform at the army"

Source: Newsen via Nate

"What have you been up to lately?"

"We perform at events and at the army. The crowd reaction is huge at the army. The ground and the cameras feel like they're going to shake because of how hard they're shouting."

1. [+430, -19] Of course, a porno is unfolding before their eyes...

2. [+350, -14] They react like that to any woman there

3. [+244, -10] Wherever you are, anyone would react like that to such a performance

4. [+31, -2] Don't be so happy. Anyone would like someone with a pretty face dressed sexily. They won't care about you once they discharge.

5. [+25, -4] You must be sooo happy getting popularity off of your bodies... tsk tsk

6. [+20, -1] Only in the army ㅋㅋㅋ

7. [+17, -0] Girl groups who are popular in the army usually don't do well outside of it... like Nine Muses. Only soldiers know them.

8. [+14, -0] Well, what do you expect soldiers to do other than go crazy when you're performing like that in front of them;;

PhoenixVFIRE Everyone in VIXX could use some or a LOT of work. In terms of singing, Leo is on top, and for dancing I'd say it's a tie between Ravi and N because they're completely different styles, though I prefer Ravi's style to N's contemporary and waacking.

This is why I wish they would get a song that would show either how much they've progressed(or haven't;;; or where they need to work).

Hyuk needs the most work for obvious reasons: Unstable, breathy, almost zero confidence, not relaxed, etc.... has a nice tone though~

N and Hongbin sometimes feel unstable or still lacking in some confidence/nervousness. I think they're pretty good when it comes to letting their natural voice shine in singing rather than forcing too much. Though, N kinda fakes vibrato in Thank You For Being Born, which isn't good, vibrato is suppose to be natural and it just doesn't sound like it to me when he does it.

Ravi....I'm not an expert on rapping, but I think his freestyle raps......are bad, I cringe almost every time. Good songwriter and composer though cuz Secret Night is great IMO lol...

Ken, and maybe it's just me, but I still don't believe he's there yet fully in singing. I don't think Ken let's his natural voice shine enough in singing and forces(strains) his resonance too much. That neck turning shit he does to pull high notes out of his ass, is not a good habit and that shit needs to go. He needs better breathe support needs to use more mixed voice and open throat technique instead of his throat to create sound. Ken is good at beatboxing and impersonations, and average at singing IMO.

Leo is obviously the best at rapping....... jk

I think Leo has some issues with straining and breathe support, but I don't think he's nearly as frequent as Ken is. Though in Hyde era, everyone was pretty awful realistically because between the dance and the song in general being in SUCH high key for a lot of the song and performing it all the fucking time, he got burnt out fast and lacked a lot of breathe support. Even Ken started breaking his lines between breaths after a while.

KrisTheNoonaSlayer Wait, I didnt talk about SPICA.
Every single member is absolutely amazing vocally. They could each go solo and fair just fine. I would go so far as to say that SPICA is the strongest, most vocally talented female group out there right now. Powerful vocals, When they sing in english at no time are there any loofs on fire. Narae and Jiwon can seem a bit faint in comparison to Boa and Bohyung but it takes that much more talent to sound amazing on your own without a group to back you up, which they do. Juhyun is a great rapper, she doesn't sound awkward, and her flow is clean. They are extremely underrated for the amount of talent flowing through them.

minkwon2 This is my specialty. I'll do two groups and two soloists.
2NE1: They're average. Yes, they are highly skilled and they have lots of stage charisma but they are average. They need improvement. I don't think they are perfect. Dara is just kind of there. She just fades into the background for me. She needs to stand out more. Bom's vocals need more work. She can sing but not that great. CL needs to stop screaming during performances. She's making the performances just too much to bear with. AND MINZY STOP HUMPING THE FUCKING FLOOR.
Super Junior: Lately, I have felt KRY, Donghae and Eunhyuk are the only ones that should be in the group. Why? I am still impressed by those five. The others just feel like fillers. Kangin. Oh my god. I used to think he was so amazing at singing but lately his voice lost some of its power for me. I can barely stand to listen to it. I know Sungmin can dance and sing but his voice is so average. He's a great harmonizer during KRY's songs with him but that's it. Shindong, to me, really doesn't have a place that I can see. He's great at dancing and I really want him to show that and not just SM saying he is.

Soloists:
Jay Park: I feel as if he can improve a lot in his singing and rapping. I love his rapping and his singing but I feel as if he hasn't reached a level of 'oh my god, Jay!'. I'd love for him to show his fans and haters that he can rap. He's proving himself as an artist. HE NEEDS TO STOP WITH THE RANTS ON TWITTER THOUGH. WE GET IT JAY. YOU AREN'T AN IDOL.
Lee Hi: This child. >:( Please have some stage presence because I watched one stage of the Rose comeback and that was to watch CL. The rest made me sleepy.
THE END.

lmao, I love you so much <3

Yaayanee SHINee

Onew - Very talented, can easily be a main in any other group or go solo (and be successful).
Jonghyun - Very talented, can go solo and be successful and has the most assets to make him the most competitive one out of SHINee.
Key - slightly above average, he does a lot of stuff well, but he's not known for just one thing. His rapping sucks and he should stop. He should seriously display more of his dancing because it's insane.
Taemin - slightly above average. His dance skills are insane and his vocals are stable, but his voice is less memorable. IDK I can't see him as a solo artist even though he could handle his own performance.
Minho - hardworking...that's it. His singing is way better than his rapping, but it's still pretty average.

Overall: SHINee is among the best boy groups in terms of talent. Their Achilles' heel is rapping. They just can't do that. They should stop and have more R&B/soul/ballad-esque songs. They excel in everything except rapping.

SPICA

Boa - Very talented, like beyond...any other main for the most part.
Juhyun - Talented, can't even decide if her rapping or her singing is better, she's good, but her singing voice is less memorable.
Jiwon - Talented, she really seems average within this group, but she can easily be the main or lead in any other group.
Narae - Talented, lord she always get drowned out in this group because the rest are so fantastic, but she's stable and sounds great.
Bohyung - Very talented, like beyond...any other main for the most part.

Overall: SPICA is 10/10. They have no real flaws.

Nine Muses

Sera - Talented, though her power vocals need more work, could handle being a solo.
Kyungri - Slightly above average, she needs to be more stable.
Hyuna - Slightly above average, she could handle being a solo.
Hyemi - Talented, she's probably the 2nd best? But nothing else sticks out about her (and I LOVE her).
Erin - Average, singing is mediocre, her rapping is actually pretty good for an idol rapper. She should train it more.
Sungah - Average, nothing really sticks out.
Minha - Mediocre.

Overall: Average group (OK trying not to cry).

I can't help but to think that I have really high standards though. Also I'm probably comparing my biases to each other and that's not fair.

Messianic_Muses Nine Muses :
Sera : very good singer & knows how to use her voice but her tone is a little bit too soft (like that of a ballad/acapella singer)
Hyuna : has sort of a raspy, deep voice (idk how to describe it) not stable and lacks power, high notes at the end sometimes not stable
Sungah : average singer, uses too much nasal sounds
Hyemi : most stable voice but can be boring/lacks energy, an OK MC but sort of lacks enthusiasm, can't really model on catwalks when compared to others
Minha : mediocre voice very soft, worst singer of the group, only one in the group that sometimes doesn't sing live, but that doesn't really matter I guess because she's beautiful/ MCs sometimes.
Kyungri : good singer but can be unstable at high notes
Euaerin : I LOVE her rapping alot especially in wild! but she can't rap that fast/messes up alot in performances. average singing & too much aegyo in her voice when she sings...

Got7 (just debuted I haven't really "analyzed" them that much)
Mark : too much nasal sound/trying to be cool sort of voice when he sings/raps
Jackson : loves to lipsync, singing voice sort of sounds like he has a cold all the time
JB : good vocal skills....not many flaws actually
Junior : not that good dancing skills when compared to the others, OK singer,
Bambam : good rapping skills but can sometimes miss the rhythm (because his part is so fast), checks his appearance too much which can be a sign of lack of confidence.
Yugyeom : nothing special,sub-vocal, fills in vocals which JB JR haven't covered
Youngjae : Good & powerful singer but doesn't have many roles in in the group

BTS : I need more time to look at my babies! <3
